    Exclusive doesn't begin to describe Puupanini, a neighborhood that's unknown even to most locals. Sitting just east of Diamond Head Memorial Park, it sits on the western end of Kahala's makai section, just before it transitions into the Diamond Head district.

    Puupanini real estate is famous for the many Mid-Century, and earlier, homes throughout, a number of them with famous pedigrees. Some of architect Vladimir Ossipoff's creations stand on these streets as well as at least one by Claude Albon Stiehl, who designed homes for the Castle and Dillingham families at the height of their influence in Hawaii.

    If this neighborhood is known at all, it's for the fact that they have their own private park with secured tennis court for the residents' use only. That's exclusive.
