Hale Pohaku is an oceanfront community, the closest condos around 20 yards from the Pacific. This unique building was designed by
Vladimir Ossipoff, one of Hawaii’s most celebrated architects, who added unique touches such as the fact that the condos have no shared walls.
The two bedroom condos have interiors are either 1,161 or 1,266 Sq Ft with one exterior lanai of 226 or 317 Sq Ft. Each unit has one assigned, covered parking space in the garage that has a rooftop tennis court. Ceiling fans are in all living areas and bedrooms, with some owners also having added a split a/c system. The outside walls of the units are partly or even fully louvered to let in breezes.
Washer/Dryer is inside every condo and there is a solar water heater system that serves the entire building. This is a walk-up building, so there is no elevator in the building.
All of the residences have an unobstructed view of the ocean.
Amenities & Things To Do The oceanfront, saltwater pool is partially covered to provide shade or allow you to get in on a rainy day, yet look out at the Pacific from there.
One of the main local surfing spots is a little over ¼ mile away at
Banyans Beach. The swells are strong enough that only more experienced surfers should go out here.
If that’s not you, the small beach provides a nice, soft spectator spot to enjoy the show.
A more inclusive entry point is 1 1/4 miles to your south at
Magic Sands Beach Park. The waves can be active here, too, but not to the level of Banyans. That activity has made it popular to get in for some boogie boarding or surfing here. You can swim here as well, just make sure the conditions are friendly enough in the water. Although not one of the top snorkeling spots, it's still worth going in, the best places on the sides of the ‘U’ made by the beach.
