The Kona Alii is across the street from the ocean in the downtown area of Kailua-Kona, its condos as close as 30 yards from the Pacific.
The concrete building’s one and two bedroom condos measure from 780 to 1,360 Sq Ft with one lanai and, in certain cases, an additional sundeck. Penthouse units on the 7th floor have a unique layout that features a second level, consisting of a landing with doors that go out to a 585 Sq Ft sundeck. This is in addition to their main level lanai. In certain cases part of the sundeck has been enclosed to create a third bedroom.
Each unit has one assigned, covered space in the parking garage on the inland side of the property. Ceiling fans are a built-in feature of the residences, though some owners have installed split a/c systems as well. Washer/Dryer are inside every condo. A storage room is on each floor with a locker/closet reserved for every residence on that level. There is an elevator in each of the two wings that serve the upper floors.
Most of the condos in the front, facing Alii Drive, have unobstructed ocean views and the units in the rear mostly have a peekaboo ocean view.
Amenities & Things To Do Up the street about 40 yards is
Kalaepaakai Beach, where you can sit on the sands and watch the swells break. From the sands down to, and on the bed of, the ocean it is rocky so bring your water shoes. You can get in for some wading as long as the water isn’t too active and, even if you can’t, there’s shade trees on shore to take the edge off the sun.
When you really want to dive in, it’s easy to do just 1 mile from your home at
Kamakahonu Beach. Set back in a cove, the waves are weaker here, so a good swim or a little leisurely wading is almost always guaranteed. A reef close to the shore is a favorite place locally for snorkeling, where you can get up close to a rainbow of colorful tropical fish as well as sea turtles and all kinds of ocean life.
The huge
Kailua Pier that makes up the eastern border of the beach often has local events held on it and it’s where many close out their day watching the sunset.
