Kona Plaza is in the middle of historic Kailua-Kona town, the west end of the building just 70 yards from the ocean itself. Those living on the northern side of the condominium look across the way at the local landmark of
Mokuaikaua Christian Church, built in 1820 and the first church in all of Hawaii.
The one to three bedroom condos have interiors ranging from 613 to 1,199 Sq Ft with one lanai on the outside. The Plaza is mixed-used. Along with the seventy-five residences, there are four office/residential units and two commercial units that have retail spaces in them.
Your car is secured in a gated, underground garage where you have one assigned parking space. Washer/Dryer are inside all residences, as are ceiling fans, though some owners have added split a/c systems. There are three elevators in different areas of the building to ensure one is close to your front door. Many of the condos have peekaboo to partial ocean views.
Amenities & Things To Do Kamakahonu Beach is a ½ mile trip, the added length due to having to go around the
Courtyard Hotel to reach it. It will be worth it since these waters are calmer, benefiting from the beach being set back inside a cove. It’s simple to get into the ocean here, enjoy some time in the Pacific, and then head back to the comfortable sands to recharge. You may want to join the snorkelers going out to the reef area and see all kinds of undersea life, including many different tropical fish who will swim right by you.
The
Kailua Pier is hard to miss next door, a place where different local festivals and events are put on at different times.
If you head out your door to the south for 1/5 mile, you have the beautiful oceanfront
Hale Halawai Park. Along with its open lawn fronting on the bay, you can get down on the coastline itself. Although rocky, it has many tidepools to explore. A pavilion in the middle of the park hosts concerts and other events as well.
