The Kona Shores is an almost-oceanfront property, one neighboring property between it and the shoreline. Shores condos nearest to the Pacific are only about 100 yards from the swells. The unusual shape of its lot includes a ‘handle’ that extends to the ocean and holds the complex’s recreation area, including a pool and sundeck right on the water.
The studio to two bedroom condos have 435 to 1,112 Sq Ft interiors with one lanai on the outside. Every unit has one assigned, uncovered parking stall for their use.
There are no in-home washers or dryers, the residents using an on-site coin laundry that accepts the PayRange app.
Ceiling fans are a standard feature, some owners having added window units or a split a/c system themselves. All of the buildings are walk-ups, so there are no elevators here. Some of the condos have peekaboo to smaller partial ocean views from them.
Amenities & Things To Do Along with an oceanfront pool and sundeck, there is a private gate to an ocean access point for snorkelers and scuba divers to get into the waters. The ‘handle’ area also includes an open grass area, with palm trees, as well as an open-air, but covered, event spot, including a BBQ and wet bar, that looks out at the waves.
You can get into the waters yourself just ½ mile north at
Honl’s Beach, celebrated for being the birthplace of boogie boarding. Waves good for bodyboarding are sometimes not the best for swimming, so this may not be the place to get some strokes in sometimes. The beach itself isn’t huge, but it also doesn’t get very crowded here, so you’ll almost certainly have room on the sands to lay out.
