I’ve assembled here 10 popular, older Honolulu condominiums that continue to be in-demand for the unique and even exceptional factors they give their residents.
You may be very surprised to find that these more mature properties have a lot to offer.
Waipuna

The Waipuna has a lot of great amenities, unusual in space-restricted Waikiki, including a beautiful, calming pond feature, another rarity here, with beautiful green grounds surrounding it, all of which you take in from your large, covered lanai.
Your location eliminates the two complaints local residents always mention – noise and traffic. The building is set back from the always active Kalakaua Ave, with your parking garage on that side of the property further insulating you. Yet you’re close enough to the road to get in & out of Waikiki quickly instead of constantly contending with the congestion of this district.
If you’re wondering about beach time, the largest one in Waikiki, Fort DeRussy Beach, is only a ½ mile from here.

The views are usually wider here due to the fact that there are only four units each on the 7th (the 1st residential level) to 31st floors and five units per floor on the 32nd to 41st.

This gives you not only a more open perspective that way, but you’re also not in close quarters with other towers like the cluster of Gold Coast high-rises up the way.
Colony Surf residents also uniquely have what is practically their own private beach due to the difficulty of reaching it from outside, making life here extra special, even for the Gold Coast.
