Aloha, George Krischke with Honolulu HI 5 (company now called Hawaii Living). Today I wanted to give an update on the brand new Waiea project which is currently under construction and the three key reasons why we here at Honolulu HI 5 (now Hawaii Living) are super excited about this brand new project. Why we think it is one of the best buildings, if not possibly the best building that is going to join Honolulu’s skyline for many years to come.

Number one reason: location, location, location. Waiea is going to be located in what we call a front row location just right across the street from the largest beach park in the state of Hawaii, the Ala Moana beach park, which this location offers unobstructed ocean views forever. There’s nothing going to be built in front of it. You’ve got the beach park below and then the ocean behind. So stunning ocean views and a number one location.

This project is going to be built on the very last vacant buildable lot in front of the Ala Moana beach park. If somebody wanted to build another building in a front row location similar to this, it would require that something else will need to be torn down that is already in existence. That could happen, but that’s probably years away so, for many years this will be the spot to be in this brand new building.

Also, besides from being right across from the biggest beach park it is also close to the biggest shopping center in the state of Hawaii, the Ala Moana shopping center. It is part of the 60 acre redevelopment, the Ward Village coastal development, which is Honolulu’s newest contemporary cosmopolitan village with pedestrian walkways, outdoor gathering places all brand new coming up in the next 6-7 years to come.

Reason Number 2: Design Layout. The building features 10 foot floor to ceiling windows with unobstructed ocean views which are spectacular. Most buildings in Honolulu have 8 foot ceilings or 9 foot ceilings or something like that. But, 10 feet is really stunning and unique and it offers a sense of space which is rarely found in condominium units.

The building design features a high degree of privacy. There’s private elevator landings, private foyers. Most buildings may have an elevator landing with 8 units or something on each floor and you share a floor with 8 other units. Here, the maximum units per floor is 6 units, and a lot of the units have private elevator landings and private foyers.

Number 3 top reason is lead certification. This building is going to be one of the first buildings in Honolulu that is aiming for the lead certification for energy efficiency. That’s exciting as well.

The building is 70% sold out even though they just started construction. The estimated completion date is going to be the end of 2016. And, did I mention the grand penthouse is still available with a rooftop infinity edge private swimming pool and a heliport. How about that.

Well, thanks for watching. Until next time,  ~Aloha
