    Makakilo Gardens mark the beginning of where the real estate map switches from Lower to Upper Makakilo. They lie right along Makakilo Drive where it curves west, forming the Lower area's northern border, just before the road heads straight up the hillside.

    Makakilo Gardens is the overall community, but there were 3 different phases to it, the first two both finished in 1973, the last in 1974. The layouts, however, follow the same pattern across them all.
