The Kahana Outrigger is a beachfront condominium community in the Kahana neighborhood, with residences as close as 15 yards from where the ocean washes up on the sands.
This project was built in two phases, the first added the pair of buildings on the north side (Bldgs 1 & 2), the second created the two on the south (Bldgs 3 & 4). These are all three bedroom condos with interiors measuring 1,448 to 1,490 Sq Ft with one lanai exterior. Units on the second floor have a loft that contains one of the bedrooms and a bathroom.
This is a Leasehold property, the lease expiring in 2071, but the Association has purchased full ownership of some sections of the land.
Each unit has at least one assigned, uncovered stall for their parking. Ceiling fans are a standard feature, some owners also adding window a/c units or a split a/c system. Washer/Dryer is inside every unit. A reserved storage locker is on the ground floor of every building for each residence. These are all walk-up buildings, so there are no elevators.
Most of the condos have ocean views that range from peekaboo to completely unobstructed.
Amenities & Things To Do Directly in front of the property is a small crescent-shaped beach, but you can walk north about 30 yards where the beach picks up again for a longer span of about 300 yards. Even though your beach isn’t the biggest, there’s room to sit or lay out at lower tides. Or, if the tide is higher, just go up the coast a little to the neighboring span.
The ocean, however, is consistently good for swimming or paddle boarding due to milder conditions created by a nearby reef. You can even just wade in and float for a while to beat the stress. Go out a little ways to the reef area and you can find some good snorkeling spots to watch the fish and a whole word of underwater life in their natural habitat.
Your closest outside alternative is south approx. ½ mile at
Pohaku Beach Park (AKA S Turns). It has a tree shaded green space to sit and enjoy the scenery and a beach that is smaller, but bigger than your own. Pohaku is known for being a place to swim as well as where to find more manageable waves in the winter months for less skilled surfers. Most of all, it’s famed for the sea turtles that are frequently seen both on the shore and in the waters.
