The latest and last of D.R. Horton’s affordable master- planned communities of Mehana is Pohakala. Phase 1 of these
homes in Kapolei with flex plans was completed in 2016, with residents adding boutique stores and cafes, and small entrepreneurial businesses as part of their two-story townhomes, giving the neighborhood a small-town feel.
Completed in the spring of 2018, Phase II consists of affordable condo-townhomes and flats in accordance with the City & County of Honolulu Affordable Housing Rules. Finished in pastels and earthy tones, Pohakala at Mehana is set in beautiful park-like surroundings with landscaped walkways and bicycle paths including TRAC, a toddler trike park. A kiddie park and a doggie park plus the close proximity of The MAC (Mehana Activity Center) with swimming pool, BBQs, and party-meeting rooms, and additional sports facilities ensure that there is something for everyone no matter their age.
