Kona Magic Sands is an oceanfront community, every one of the residences in this concrete building facing the Pacific with just 20 yards between you and the surf.
Magic Sands Beach is right next door. This is Old Hawaii here, your only immediate neighbors being a very small apartment building and a house that are across Alii Dr. The evenings are quiet and idyllic, island style.
The project is almost exclusively studios with just two one bedrooms. The units' interiors that measure from 400 to 658 Sq Ft with one covered lanai on the outside, with wraparound versions on the corner units. Each unit has one assigned, uncovered parking space for their use. Ceiling fans are inside all condos, with a few that have split a/c systems installed by their owner. The building has a shared coin laundry room for the residents. This is a walk-up building, so there is no elevator.
All of the units look right out at the Pacific, with only the very low property line wall keeping the ground floor from having the same completely unobstructed ocean views as the upper floors.
Amenities & Things To Do One amenity you might be using most is the restaurant on the ground floor of the building, so you can go out for an oceanfront dinner without even leaving the property. The pool and BBQ area are all next to the waves as well, with just a short wall beyond marking the end of the property. There’s also an open green lawn that runs along the rest of the Pacific side of your building, with palm trees lining it.
Magic Sands Beach Park is your next door neighbor, giving you almost immediate access to this popular coastal spot. Whatever your preferred activity – swimming, bodyboarding, surfing – you’ll be able to do it here, just maybe not on the same day. The surf can be strong at times, so swimmers are advised at those times to come back another time.
Your neighbor on the opposite or northern side of the building is another public recreation area,
Pahoehoe Beach Park. There’s actually not much, if any, beach there, mostly the typical rocky Kona shoreline. Still, it is right on the ocean and the green grassy area that is most of the park is the scene of many get-togethers of local families & friends, especially around sunset.
