Poipu Crater is a uniquely cocooned community, located inside a volcanic crater with thick greenery encircling it to further cushion these homes from the outside.
These are all two-bedroom, two-story duplex townhomes with interiors of 1,094 Sq Ft and one lanai on the outside. The buildings have a Polynesian style to them, the second floor of each unit holding one of the bedrooms, a bathroom, a small office/den space and three closets. The residences each have at least one assigned, uncovered parking space.
Some units have installed split a/c systems, while others use only ceiling fans for their cooling. Although there are no ocean views from here, the homes do have beautiful garden and mountain views.
Amenities & Things To Do Inside the crater your community has its own pool to enjoy as well as other recreation options. There’s a putting green and a tennis court, then there’s a clubhouse for holding events or you can get in a game on its ping pong table.
From home, it’s less than ½ mile to the west and you can be on
Brennecke’s Beach. The waves are more geared to surfers with some experience, though you can usually get in some wading here. The shore has comfortable sands to lay out on and watch the swells if the conditions are too rough.
You can also go east, which takes you to
Shipwreck Beach in under a mile. The swells are not as strong, so this is a beach where most can do some swimming, snorkeling or even some surfing. Take notice of the adjoining cliffs, where divers jump off each sunset into the ocean below. Many love to cap off the day watching the show.
