Amenities & Things To Do Your home is at the north end of the ½ mile long
Wailua Beach. The surf is very active on this shore, so it’s not a swimming spot. However, nearby your property there is a small, rock-protected pool where kids can play safely. Surfers, boogie boarders and kite boarders love the swells here so this is the place if you enjoy those activities. The sands are comfortable to lay back on and there are usually not a lot of people on the beach, making it a quieter, more private space.
There’s a more active shoreline less than 1 ½ miles south at
Lydgate Beach Park, which has two protected lagoons where both kids and adults can get into calm, welcoming waters. Next to the beach are recreation options for every age. Children have one of the biggest playgrounds not only on Kauai, but in all Hawaii, to play and explore. Open green spaces are here, too, but also more organized active spaces like a volleyball court and a nine-hole disc golf course. Between these two beaches alone, you can satisfy most any need.
