Kahana Villa is just across the street from the beach in the Kahana area, with residences that are as close as 100 yards from the ocean.
The property needs some explanation due to a few unusual features:
- Building E is made up of two separated structures that are connected by walkways on each floor, which is why some think of it as two buildings.
- This property has another, three story building, ‘A’, that is on a completely separate Lower Honoapiilani Rd property to the north, just on the other side of the neighboring Kahana Falls hotel.
- The land Kahana Falls is on was where Buildings B, C & D of Kahana Villas were to be located, but the property was given up at some point in the project.
- About forty of the condos are timeshare units, all of them in the ‘E’ and ‘F’ buildings.
Across all three residential buildings there are one and two bedroom condos with interiors spanning from 711 to 1,479 Sq Ft with one lanai on the outside.
Building A Building A has eight condos in its three story structure - six two-story, two bedroom townhomes that take up the first two floors and two single-level, one bedroom units on the third, all with one lanai exterior. Upstairs in the two-bedroom layouts are both bedrooms and one bathroom. The townhomes also have a fenced-in lanai & garden area of their own on the ground floor level. Residences here each have one assigned parking stall that can be covered or uncovered. Building A residents have full use of the amenities on the main property.
Buildings E & F The buildings on the main property have a variety of single-level, one bedroom and two-story, two bedroom floor plans, all of them present in both ‘E’ and ‘F’. The fifty-six homes in the eight story ‘E’ are equally divided, with twenty-eight each of one and two bedroom layouts. ‘F’s forty residences over its seven stories aren’t as balanced, numbering twelve of the one bedrooms and twenty-eight two bedrooms. In every two bedroom layout, both bedrooms and two bathrooms are always on the second level, with the lanai on the lower one. Each condo has one assigned, uncovered parking space to use.
All Buildings (‘A’, ‘E’ and ‘F’) Ceiling fans are throughout the interiors of all three buildings, with some in ‘E’ and ‘F’ also having a split a/c system that the owner has installed. Washer/Dryer is inside every condo. Elevators are only in Buildings E & F, with ‘A’ being a walk-up.
A separate building on the front of the property holds the front desk & lobby, which serves guests staying in vacation rentals.
Many of these residences have peekaboo to partial ocean views, primarily from those in ‘E’ and ‘F’.
Amenities & Things To Do Right across Lower Honoapiilani Rd is
Pohaku Beach Park, where you’ll find sands to put out your chair or lay down your towel. Here you can wade into ocean with a soft bed and stay there enjoying the surroundings or take a swim and get in some exercise. Sea turtles live, or at least spend a lot of time, around this beach, making appearances often in the water and out. Just part of life in this part of Maui. You also have a nice open grassy space shaded by trees in many parts just off the sands. Benches are along the edge so you can sit down and lose yourself for a while watching the waves.
A little further to travel, but still only a mile south, you also have
Honokowai Beach Park. This park also has an open space on shore that’s over 4 ½ acres in size, where the kids have two playgrounds waiting for them. This area of the coast is reef-protected, keeping the waters calm for another great choice to wade or swim in nearby. The reef, not far away, is where you should head for some snorkeling to see the schools of tropical fish, octopus and sea turtles who live and feed here.
