Kalanikai is located right in the downtown area of Kailua Kona, sitting just about 250 yards from the ocean.

Amenities & Things To Do From your door, it’s just under ½ mile to be on
Kamakahonu Beach and heading into its calm, protected waters. This is where you can get in a daily swim or set out to the reef not far from the shore for some great snorkeling. Tropical fish, sea turtles, octopus and all kinds of ocean life can be seen here, all going right by you.
Running right along the beach is
Kailua Pier, known as a sunset watching spot, but also where many local events are held.
Hale Halawai Park, also within the ½ mile range from you, also features concerts and different festivities on its lawn as well as inside the large pavilion here. It has an access point down to the ocean, too, but this is a rocky part of the coastline, so water shoes are advised. Although lacking any sand, the view is wonderful and time by the waves is always well spent.
