The Keauhou Gardens is only about 1/5 mile from the Pacific Ocean, bordered on three sides by
Kona Country Club Golf Course fairways – the 14th on the west, the 15th on its south and the 16th on its east.
A second construction phase in 1991 added more units, but almost all of those are now owned and operated as the
Kona Coast Resort timeshare units. Keauhou Gardens is actually part of the resort, enjoying access to much of its amenities.
The one to three bedroom condos have interiors measuring from 1,101 to 1,953 Sq Ft with one or two lanais exterior. Sixty of the units are one bedrooms and forty six of them are two bedroom layouts. The two bedrooms vary between single-level floor plans and those that have the second bedroom and a bathroom in an upper level similar to an enclosed loft. There are only six three bedroom homes here, all of them two-story layouts with two of the bedrooms upstairs and a lanai on each floor.
All units have parking in detached, two car garages, with one assigned space each for one & two bedrooms (garage is divided) and both garage spaces for three bedrooms.
Ceiling fans are throughout the interiors, with some also having split a/c systems that the owners have installed. Washer/Dryer is inside every unit. The buildings are all walk-ups, so there are no elevators in the complex.
A number of the residences have peekaboo to partial ocean views from them.
Amenities & Things To Do Just by owning a home in Keauhou Gardens you get the use of the
Kona Coast Resort amenities, including:
- 2 pools
- 3 hot tubs
- 2 tennis courts
- 2 fitness centers
- basketball and sand volleyball courts
- jogging paths and more.
Even with all that, you’ll still probably be going fairly often to
Keauhou Beach Park, ¾ mile south of your home. Its protected location in a cove keeps the big waves out, so you can get in for some comfortable swimming here. This also makes it easier to put in your boat, kayak or paddle board as well or you can go over to the northern side of the cove where the snorkeling is always good.
It’s even simpler to get to
Keauhou Shopping Center, which is only 1/5 from where you live. Get your groceries, stop by the drugstore, refill your gas tank and take care of some packages at the post office, all in this one stop. There’s shops and restaurants, too, so you have something to look forward to besides errands when you come here.
