Regarding Master Lease & Sandwich Lease: There are 26 out of 151 unit owners that have not yet acquired both 1) the master lessor's, 'fee interest,' and 2) the master lessee's 'sandwich interest.' The AOAO recently took out a loan to acquire the 'sandwich interest' and makes the sandwich interest available to purchase for each unit owner. The current loan payment is listed as other fee / special assessment and will terminate once the unit owner buys the sandwich interest. For the few remaining leasehold units, the master lessor's 'fee interest' is currently not available for sale. The current master lease rent will renegotiate effective 1/1/2019.

Many of the units in the Canterbury Place condo offers ocean and Diamond Head views, especially breathtaking from several units on the higher floors. You'll be greeted with generous floor space, and with only four units per floor, you'll never feel crowded. You can move right in and start enjoying the wonders of the local area from your first day.

If you're trying to decide between the great Canterbury condos for sale, consider letting the size of the units be your guide. The 1BR condos are large and generous, with more than 700 square feet of space. If you're looking for a 2BR, you can enjoy between 1,000 and 1,800 square feet. On the 38th floor, you'll find an amazing 3BR/3BA unit with nearly 3,000 square feet. Created by combining two floor plans and enclosing the lanais, it's something to see. Not all units have lanais, as many of them have been enclosed to create a larger indoor area and an even more spacious feel.

Maintenance fees are on the high end compared to most Waikiki condos. However, the fees do include central air, electricity, water & sewer, and cable television. At least one parking stall comes with every unit, and some have two. There's no reason to go out, though, when you can explore the commercial space on the lower floors including two popular restaurants.

Of the hundreds of Honolulu condos, Canterbury Place offers an incredible location. It's right across from the famous Hilton Hawaiian Village and Fort Derussy Park - both fronting great beaches.
