The Luana Waikiki is another of the Waikiki condos that went through condotel conversion in the 1st decade of the 21st Century. They did more than just convert the building as-is, though. First, the Luana went through a major remodeling, led by the noted Wayne Parker Interior Design. Only then were the units put on the market.

It remains in many ways a hotel, under the management of the Aqua Resorts since January 2014 (previously under Outrigger Resorts). Your condo can be rented by yourself or your own designated management, of course, or throw it into Aqua's hotel pool and they'll handle the daily chores. That's precisely the best use of your property in this case; a solid vacation rental that creates a steady income from the Waikiki visitor industry, while it also appreciates in value.

The Luana is on Kalakaua, next to the open parkland of Ft Derussy and just a couple of blocks to the beach! The low-rise nature of the park, and the military's few buildings on it, allow for excellent views from the south side, the higher floors even getting a vista of the blue ocean.

The condos all have travertine floors and granite countertops. They also come with a very good furniture package so you're open for guests immediately. There's little to nothing you need to do usually to get started in the vacation condo business.

You'll have a lot to offer vacationers, including a great common area where the pool and gym are found. From there you look out at the park and the ocean. There's also a restaurant within the building and, most importantly, a superb lobby that has a true tropical feel. That's something every traveler to Hawaii craves when they arrive.
