You may be contemplating visiting Waikiki for a vacation or even investing in a Waikiki condo, but not yet convinced if this is the right place for you. I decided to spend a day in Waikiki (7.15am – 8pm on Jan 26, 2015) to help everyone with an interest in Waikiki get a better sense as to what Waikiki is all about. I will let 20 pictures – below – do the talking for me.
7.15am: Peet’s Coffee at Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
7.34am: Sheraton Waikiki’s infinity pool.
7.58am: Boogie Boarders Catching a Wave by Kuhio Beach in Waikiki.
9.24am: Famous Bills Restaurant in Waikiki from Sydney, Australia. Great pancakes.
10.23am: Surf lesson on Waikiki Beach (no, I did not participate).
10.28am: Cockatoos on the beach in Waikiki.
11.07am: Stunning Waikiki Beach. Yes, it is Waikiki – not the Maldives.
11.16am: Waikiki Beach by 5 star Halekulani Hotel.
11.25am: The Royal Hawaiian Hotel, also known as “The Pink Hotel” – built 1927 – sits right on Waikiki Beach.
11.45am: Lunch at Duke’s Waikiki with Maki – my wife & Office Manager….hmmm…that was good!
12.35pm: More Waikiki Beach.
1.07pm: Sand People – charming shop by Moana Surfrider, selling various cute beach items.
1.23pm: Island Vintage Coffee in Waikiki. Best Acai Bowl in Waikiki, but not today (too full from lunch).
1.48pm: Lots of nice shops at Beach Walk in Waikiki.
2.28pm: Waikiki Beach in front of Fort Derussy Park.
3.58pm: Beach Bar at the Moana Surfrider Hotel, right on Waikiki Beach. Great place for an afternoon Plantation Iced Tea.
6.43pm: Sunset seen from The Pink Hotel where we had a light meal.
7.03pm: Waikiki evening skyline with Diamond Head in the background.
7.43pm: Polynesian Show at The Pink Hotel.
That sums up my day in Waikiki in 20 pictures – good night!
