Waianae and Makaha are truly the last outposts on the Leeward Coast of Oahu. Past them there's nothing but wilderness. Due to that frontier reputation it's often forgotten that there are not only condos in both, but a few that will definitely surprise you.

Especially noteworthy are the Makaha Valley Towers, which sit against the cooler mountainside. It's a 16 floor structure holding 592 units – with pristine ocean views. It just might be the largest condo on the Leeward Side.

You can live directly on the beach, too. One condominium, the Hawaiian Princess, is just as tall as the Valley Towers, with your lanai hanging almost right over the sands. It's beach living to die for.

These 2 towns are tailor made for those wishing to truly get away from it all and experience another side of Oahu. The best news is that you can do all of that without giving up any modern comforts.
