Most of the 105 total Anchorage homes were built between 1979 and 1981, wich a few built as late as 1986. Most of the original home designs were single level and featured tall open cathedral ceilings with cool looking lava rock accent walls in the master bathroom - that was architecturally hip back then. Most homes in Anchorage have between 1,800 sq ft - 3,000 sq ft interior living area on level lots, typically ranging between 7,500 sq ft and 10,000 sq ft.
All homes feature concrete tile roofs and many feature stucco exteriors. There are only a handful of floorplans with slight variations reoccuring throughout the neighborhood, creating a clean consistent look. Some homeowners have since enlarged the original foot print of their homes or even added a second floor addition.
42 of the Anchorage homes are right on the Hawaii Kai Marina with the ability to dock your boat just past your back yard. All marina front Anchorage homes enjoy awesome east, south east facing marina views with sunrise views and the imposing Koko Crater dominating the views across the marina.
The most desirable widest marina section within the Anchorage neighborhood is approximately between the 7249 and 7321 block of Makaa St. These homes are the farthest distance away from homes across the marina and enjoy the green views of a small marina island bird sanctuary.
There is a nominal association fee for home owners in Anchorage of ~ $22 /mo (2014). Additionally, all marina front homes in Hawaii Kai pay ~ $400 / year (2014), which is a marina association fee.
