About One Ala Moana About One Ala Moana
One Ala Moana has 2 wings: Diamond Head and Ewa wing. Each wing has 2 elevators and it is only possible to access the other wing from the Terrace level (where the amenities are located) - great design to maximize privacy.
14 units per floor - 7 units in each wing. 1BR only mountain facing, 2BR mainly ocean facing and 3BR units all have living room facing the ocean and bedrooms on the mountain side.
The finishes are top notch luxury - comparable to
Anaha,
Waiea and
Park Lane.
It is very pleasant to open the windows in the living room of the ocean facing units, since there is no close proximity to any noisy busy streets - just the amenity deck and the top floor parking of Ala Moana Shopping Center.
Views: Many ocean facing units have great ocean views, but depending on the floor see varying degree of the Ala Moana Shopping Center parking structure, which isn’t pretty.
Ceiling height: 9 feet
Parking: Located on the 4th and 5th floor. The 5th floor parking is preferred because of the direct access from the residential elevators. Access to the 4th floor parking stalls require the use of 2 different elevators.
Access Ala Moana Shopping Center directly from elevators (elevators have a button labeled AMC - Ala Moana Center).
The amenity deck is incredible - high level of sophistication throughout. Example: 1 of the BBQ cabanas has a good sized lawn adjacent to it and it makes you feel like you are in luxury single-family home in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Very quiet and private building - large number of 2nd home owners.
Possible drawbacks: Location is somewhat isolated, a little away from more residential areas and taking an evening stroll nearby - after Ala Moana Shopping Center closes - doesn’t have the same excitement and inviting feel as
Kakaako and
Waikiki may have.
Secured bike parking room on 1st floor and surf board storage 4th floor.
The Developers One Ala Moana was developed in a collaboration between renowned Honolulu based developers, Kobayashi Group and The MacNaughton Group - also behind
Hokua and
Park Lane Ala Moana - and Howard Hughes Corporation - developer of
Ward Village.
Architects are Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Benjamin Woo Architects with interior design by Honolulu based Philpotts Interiors.
